These wavy glass coasters add a touch of style and colour to any room around your home. Practical as well as decorative for your mugs, glasses, keys, jewellery, candles, and much more.
These “Oceanside” coasters have been made with alternate coloured hand cut curves with a layer of clear glass on top and fused together in the kiln to 800c. Underneath there are 4 small bumpons to protect your surfaces. These are perfect for kitchen or living room table or actually anywhere around the house, perhaps as a small candle holder or to have a nice cup of coffee or tea on.
Fused Glass usually consists of 2 flat layers of 3mm glass (one layer being coloured and the other being clear). Having the layer of clear glass on top, makes the surface completely food safe, adds a little depth to see the coloured glass, but does sometimes cause some natural tiny, small air bubbles to form which I think adds to the effect of being handmade.
